Title
video clip of Rudy Guiliani addressing annual CORE award ceremony
Description
This is a clip of former New York City mayor Rudy Guiliani's video message to CORE's 25th Anniversary Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award Ceremony.
Again, this is yet another example of the 180 degree turn that CORE has made politically since the days of the civil rights and Black power movements.
When Guiliani was mayor, he was known for routinely refusing to meet with the city's Black leaders. He also stated on NY1 News that it was his intention to force poor people to move out of New York during his tenure and used mini-tanks and NYPD snipers to evict squatters from the Lower East Side.
