This is a photo of the subway stall-in which was part of the World's Fair Stall-In carried out by Harlem CORE, Brooklyn CORE and Bronx CORE on April 22, 1964.
Brooklyn CORE member Paul Heinegg is lying on the floor on the left hand of the photo. The other activists are currently unidentified. The woman laying on the ground is handcuffed to Heinegg and the other man due to their participation in the protest. One of the men is bleeding from his head as a result of his participation.
The photo takes place on an I.R.T. subway platform on the New York-Flushing line near World's Fair ground.
