This is a photo of CORE's National Director James Farmer (center, white scarf) at the 1964 CIty Wide School Boycott. At the time, this was the largest civil rights demonstration in the history of the nation. With approximately 450,000 participants, it was almost twice as large as the previous year's March on Washington.
In the right hand side of the photo can be seen comedian Dick Gregory marching with Rev. Milton Galamison who was considered the leader of the March.
