<text> This is a 1976 photo of 7 Arts CORE members Valerie Harper and Jack Gilford. It is a publicity still from Harper's television series 'Rhoda' in which she starred as the lead character.

Harper wasn't just an active member, she was an officer in 7 Arts. She served as the chair of the community relations committee in 1964 when CORE was at its zenith. According to her autobiography, 'I, Rhoda', she also walked the picket line with the earlier version of 7 Arts, The Committee for the Employment of Negro Performers, in its demonstration against the Broadway play, 'Subways Are for Sleeping'. This is despite that fact that she was performing in the play at the same time. Her book also discusses her participation in 7 Arts campaign against the industrial trade shows and General Motors.

Gilford was a long time character actor who appeared in numerous shows such as 'The Defenders', 'All in the Family', and 'The Golden Girls'.

My thanks to Lisa Lee Gilford for confirming that Harper was in 7 Arts.</text>
